 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle.  TOR TIV APPOINTS 19 VASSAL KINGS NATIONWIDE TO REPRESENT TIV THRONE


13th December, 2025   


The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv Nation, His Royal Majesty, the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, CFR, has appointed nineteen Uter (Vassal Kings) across Nigeria to serve as official emissaries of the Tiv throne in their respective states.


The investiture ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Tor Tiv Palace in Gboko. During the event, the monarch presented Certificates of Appointment and Letters of Introduction to facilitate formal recognition by government institutions, traditional councils, and security agencies nationwide.


Designated as second-grade traditional rulers, the newly appointed Uter are tasked with promoting Tiv culture, strengthening unity among Tiv communities in the diaspora, and serving as credible links between the Tiv traditional institution and state authorities where they reside.

The appointments underscore the Tiv traditional institution’s commitment to strengthening cohesion among Tiv communities nationwide and deepening engagement with host states through recognized traditional leadership.
