 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana.  Tragedy in Abuma as truck crushes two LG staff


Three persons, including two female local government workers in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State were on Tuesday, crushed by a fast-moving truck, resulting in their instant d€ath on the spot.


The incident which happened at Abuma, a boundary area of Ugwuakuma, Arochukwu, involved a red Truck which was said to have collided with the motorcycle that was conveying the local government staff to their work place in Arochukwu LGA.


The identities of the accident victims were given as Mr Ajah Ogbu Nnanna who was the motorcyclist while the two female victims were given as Mrs Charity Joshua and Mrs Chikaodi  Abel.


The victims were said to be indigenes of Ndiokpo and Obichie communities of Ihechiowa, Arochukwu LGA.


Confirming the sad development, the interim President-General of Ihechiowa Development Union, Mr Ogbonnaya Okoroafor said the bodies of the victims had been evacuated to the mortuary.


There is not yet an official statement about the incident from the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC at the time of this report but Abia State Sector Commander, Ngozi Ezeoma promised to investigate the report before releasing official response.
