 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  TRAGEDY ON ABINSI ROAD, 18 SEATER BUS DRIVER DIES IN A FATAL CRASH, POLICE LAUNCH IDENTIFICATION SEARCH


16th December, 2025 


A fatal road accident has claimed the life of a Toyota 18-seater bus driver along the Wannune–Makurdi road. The crash occurred at Abinsi, where the driver reportedly died on the spot.


The vehicle involved bears registration number XE 481 MKD. Authorities say the deceased had no means of identification at the time of the incident, making it difficult to notify his family.


The police are appealing to members of the public with any useful information to assist in identifying the victim. Anyone with details is urged to contact the Officer-in-Charge, Abinsi Police Outstation, on 08038689030, or visit the police station in Abinsi.


Police say timely information could help reunite the deceased with his family and ensure proper arrangements are made.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
