 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion.  Uche Ekwunife Pays Tribute to Late Senator Annie Okonkwo at 2nd Memorial Service in Ojoto


Senator Uche Ekwunife has paid glowing tribute to the late Senator Annie Clement Okonkwo (Agunechemba Ojoto) during his 2nd Memorial Service, held on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at the Senator Annie Okonkwo Agunechemba Compound in Ojoto.


Senator Ekwunife joined Lolo Mrs Chinyere Okonkwo (Wife), Prince Donatus Okonkwo, younger brother of the late senator; Hon. Harris Uchenna Okonkwo, son of the late senator and Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency; members of the Okonkwo family, the clergy; and the Ojoto community to honour the life and enduring legacy of the former lawmaker


Speaking at the memorial service, Senator Ekwunife described the late Senator Okonkwo as an influential leader whose business acumen and political career made significant contributions to leadership development, economic empowerment, and the advancement of progressive politics in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.


She noted that the late senator was a bridge-builder who leveraged his wealth, influence, and public office to uplift his people, adding that his name remains synonymous with courage, generosity, and selfless service.


The memorial service drew captains of industry, political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, clergy, and well-wishers, all gathered to reflect on the life, achievements, and lasting impact of Senator Annie Okonkwo, whose legacy continues to resonate across Ojoto, Anambra State, and beyond.
