Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said.  Uche Ekwunife Pays Tribute to Late Senator Annie Okonkwo at 2nd Memorial Service in Ojoto


Senator Uche Ekwunife has paid glowing tribute to the late Senator Annie Clement Okonkwo (Agunechemba Ojoto) during his 2nd Memorial Service, held on Sunday, 28 December 2025, at the Senator Annie Okonkwo Agunechemba Compound in Ojoto.


Senator Ekwunife joined Lolo Mrs Chinyere Okonkwo (Wife), Prince Donatus Okonkwo, younger brother of the late senator; Hon. Harris Uchenna Okonkwo, son of the late senator and Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency; members of the Okonkwo family, the clergy; and the Ojoto community to honour the life and enduring legacy of the former lawmaker


Speaking at the memorial service, Senator Ekwunife described the late Senator Okonkwo as an influential leader whose business acumen and political career made significant contributions to leadership development, economic empowerment, and the advancement of progressive politics in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.


She noted that the late senator was a bridge-builder who leveraged his wealth, influence, and public office to uplift his people, adding that his name remains synonymous with courage, generosity, and selfless service.


The memorial service drew captains of industry, political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, clergy, and well-wishers, all gathered to reflect on the life, achievements, and lasting impact of Senator Annie Okonkwo, whose legacy continues to resonate across Ojoto, Anambra State, and beyond.
