 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. We admit fielding an unsuitable candidate in 2023, Peter Obi's Defection to ADC is a Liberation for Labour Party- Obiora Ifoh, (National Publicity Secretary, Labour Part)


The Labour Party has described the defection of its 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and some supporters to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a “liberation.” Party leaders noted Obi’s lacklustre speech at the event and questioned his political vision.





Labour Party said it had long parted ways with Obi and his allies in the National Assembly and had even suspended lawmakers for anti-party activities. 


The party blamed Obi and Abia Governor Alex Otti for earlier internal crises, noting that the Enugu event was largely boycotted by prominent political and traditional institutions.


Labour Party also admitted fielding an unsuitable candidate in 2023, apologized to Nigerians, and pledged to work toward presenting a stronger prospect in future elections.
