 Zango Kataf, Jaba PDP Committees Hold Reconciliation Meeting Ahead Of 2027 Elections The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Working Committees in Zango Kataf and Jaba Local Government Areas have held a strategic reconciliation meeting aimed at strengthening party unity and positioning the party for success in the 2027 general elections. The meeting, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Jaba Local Government Area, was jointly chaired by the PDP Chairmen of Jaba and Zango Kataf LGAs, Sabastine David Bijiri and Martins Markus Koyah. It brought together party executives, stakeholders, ward officials, elders, youth and women leaders, as well as members from both local government areas. Speaking at the meeting, the Zango Kataf PDP Chairman commended party leaders and members for supporting the zoning of the party’s House of Representatives ticket to Zango Kataf Local Government Area. We admit fielding an unsuitable candidate in 2023, Peter Obi's Defection to ADC is a Liberation for Labour Party- Obiora Ifoh, (National Publicity Secretary, Labour Part)


The Labour Party has described the defection of its 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and some supporters to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a “liberation.” Party leaders noted Obi’s lacklustre speech at the event and questioned his political vision.





Labour Party said it had long parted ways with Obi and his allies in the National Assembly and had even suspended lawmakers for anti-party activities. 


The party blamed Obi and Abia Governor Alex Otti for earlier internal crises, noting that the Enugu event was largely boycotted by prominent political and traditional institutions.


Labour Party also admitted fielding an unsuitable candidate in 2023, apologized to Nigerians, and pledged to work toward presenting a stronger prospect in future elections.
