NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. We have been fully participating in all INEC activities without let or hindrance. NDC also fielded candidates, and fully pa...

2027: ADC in talks with PDP, NNPP – Bolaji Abdullahi

There are growing indications that some political parties may realign ahead of the 2027 general election with the aim of unseating President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this in Abuja.

He stated  that the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently in discussions to form an alliance with the ADC to challenge the ruling APC in 2027.

Abdullahi explained that the proposed alliance is not solely about taking power from President Tinubu but is focused on improving the quality of life for Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the ADC has inaugurated its Constitution Review Committee, with former Imo State Governor and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, and former Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, leading the committee.

According to Abdullahi, the ADC is committed to building a party anchored on strong democratic principles, internal unity, and effective governance.

He added that the constitution review process will also serve to strengthen party cohesion as the ADC intensifies efforts to consolidate its grassroots presence nationwide.

Members of the committee have been mandated to submit an interim report and proposed constitutional amendments to the National Working Committee within 30 days.

In his words, “We are having priminary conversations it’s possible and like we said any party of any group of politicians or political group that is willing to work with us because the situation we face today as a country is an existential challenge.”

“Nigeria has never been where we are today a a country and as a people and you can begin to mention various indices to explain that, so anyone that has anything to contribute that may believe that this one today is not the Nigeria that we know, it’s not the Nigeria that support the dream and ambitions of millions of citizens regardless of who their father or mother are/is then they are welcome to work with us.”

“ADC is committed we understand the responsibility that we have.”

“People talk about how do you stop president bola tinubu or how we ca take power from him I can assure you that is not our interest, we don’t have meetings and seat down and be discussing president bola Ahmed tinubu we discuss how do we ease the pains that am everyday Nigerian is facing it’s the only thing that can justify our existence.”
