 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. 70-Year-Old Widow Allegedly Raped In Kafanchan, Suspect Remanded


A Kaduna State High Court in Kafanchan has ordered the remand of a farmer, Timothy Ayock, in a correctional facility for allegedly raping a 70-year-old widow.


Ayock faces two charges of rape and criminal force, in violation of sections 257 and 237 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017. 


According to the state counsel, Daniel Isah, the alleged incident occurred on December 26, 2025, in Tagama community, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.


The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. During proceedings, the prosecutor requested an adjournment to prepare the case. 


Presiding Judge Michael Eugene remanded Ayock at the Kafanchan Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until March 5, 2026, for hearing.
