 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. ATHENS, PA, WOMAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER DOMESTIC ALTERCATION INVOLVING KNIFE. (PHOTO).

 Athens, PA, woman taken into custody after domestic altercation involving knife. 

   Athens woman was arrested Monday after a domestic dispute in which police say a man was cut on the hand with a knife.

Donan Rae Sherman, 40, faces charges of two counts of second-degree simple assault and one count of first-degree terroristic threats, according to an Athens Township Police Department affidavit.

Police responded around 1:20 a.m. Monday, to a home in Athens Township after receiving a report of an ongoing domestic incident. The male victim told officers that Sherman had threatened to kill him while holding a kitchen knife and had poked him in the hand, causing a small cut. He declined medical treatment.

Sherman told police the dispute began over a cell phone the man refused to return. She admitted to making threatening statements and holding a knife, but said it was in self-defense, claiming the man had previously been violent and had tried to take the knife from her, which led to the injury.

Sherman was taken into custody and is being held at the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $75,000 bail. Her preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.
