NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party.  AVM ESEN EFANGA TAKES OVER AS 11TH AOC, AIR TRAINING COMMAND, KADUNA

In furtherance of the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF) redeployment of senior officers aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, in line with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke’s Command Philosophy of building a highly motivated, professional, and mission-ready force, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Esen Paul Efanga has officially taken over as the 11th Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Training Command (ATC). The formal handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna.

The colourful ceremony was well attended by senior officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff of the Command. It featured the traditional handing and taking over of the Command flag, as well as the signing of handover notes between the outgoing and incoming AOCs, symbolising the formal transfer of authority and responsibility. The ceremony reinforced continuity of leadership within the Command and underscored training as the backbone of operational readiness, discipline, and airpower effectiveness.

In his maiden address, AVM Efanga expressed profound appreciation to the CAS for the confidence reposed in him and paid tribute to his predecessor for his exemplary leadership and the solid foundation laid during his tenure. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening training standards, innovation, and realism to ensure NAF personnel remain fully prepared to meet the demands of ongoing counter-insurgency, counter-banditry, and counter-terrorism operations across all theatres. In his farewell remarks, AVM Ahmed Yusuf Dari thanked officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff for their professionalism and unwavering support, and pledged to further enhance training frameworks that directly support operational effectiveness and mission success in his new appointment at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force as the Chief of Training.
