Swiss author Erich von Däniken has passed away at age 90. He died on January 10th from age-related causes at a hospital in Interlaken, Switzerland. Von Däniken became famous in 1968 with his bestselling book "Chariots of the Gods," which proposed that ancient civilizations like the Mayans and Egyptians were visited by extraterrestrial beings who helped them build monuments like the pyramids. While his theories were rejected by the scientific community as pseudoscience, he sold nearly 70 million books in over 30 languages and influenced popular culture including shows like "The X-Files" and "Ancient Aliens." He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elisabeth, his daughter Cornelia, and two grandchildren.

Bruno Mars unveils huge 2026 stadium tour

Bruno Mars is set to return to the stage with a massive global tour. The 16-time Grammy winner announced “The Romantic Tour,” a stadium-spanning trek across North America, Europe, and the U.K. in support of his upcoming fourth solo album, The Romantic, set to release Feb. 27. This marks his first solo album in a decade, following 2016’s hit-filled 24K Magic, and his first full-length release since 2021’s Grammy-winning Silk Sonic project with Anderson .Paak.

The North American leg kicks off April 10 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and will hit major cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Miami, and New Orleans, wrapping Oct. 14 in Vancouver after two nights at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Anderson .Paak will join the tour as DJ Pee .Wee, with additional support from RAYE, Leon Thomas, and Victoria Monét at select shows. Fans can sign up for the artist presale through Monday, Jan. 12, with presale beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14, and the general on-sale Thursday, Jan. 15 at 12 p.m. local time. The tour includes dozens of dates across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, including Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, Milan, and London.
