 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Comprehensive Science And Technical College Nawfia Set To Launch Historic Exhibition Day

The Principal, Comprehensive Science and Technical College Nawfia, Venerable Dr. Nnamdi Emendu has announced scheduled programme by the institution to stage an unprecedented Exhibition day slated for February 16.


In a press statement in Nawfia ,Venerable Emendu said that activities expected to feature during the day include exhibitions on the science and technical disciplines, showcasing of individual talents by students, goodwill support by the Old boys of the college, the diocese, friends and well wishers.


He commended the Old boys of the college for equipping the science laboratories with state- of- the art facilities, and for their massive support in providing some technical assistance to the college.


The Principal further acknowledged the support of the Awka Diocesan Anglican communion through the instrumentality of the Archbishop on the Niger and the Anglican Bishop of Awka Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim ( PhD) whose spiritual, material and moral support to the college are noteworthy.


He further reported progress on the part of the college which commenced academic activities with resumption tests for students and the appreciable attendance by teachers and students during the resumption day.


On the concluded yuletide season, Venerable Emendu acknowledged the convivial atmosphere which enveloped the state and gave kudos to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for making it possible.
