CP NAZIRU ABDULMAJID PSC GIVES SCORECARD FOR 2025, OUTLINES OPERATIONAL STRATEGY FOR 2026
The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid psc, presents operational scorecard of the Command for the year 2025 and outlines the strategic policing direction for the year 2026.
2. During the year under review, the Command recorded significant operational achievements through sustained crime prevention patrols, intelligence-led policing, prompt emergency response, and effective inter-agency collaboration across the twenty-seven (27) Local Government Areas of the State.
3. Within this period, a total of two thousand, six hundred and ten (2,610) suspects were arrested for various major crimes and offences, while one thousand, twenty three (1,023) cases were successfully investigated, prosecuted, and secured convictions, reflecting improved investigative capacity and diligent prosecution.
4. The Command also recorded notable recoveries, including eight (8) assorted arms and fifty-four (54) rounds of ammunitions respectively, as well as forty one (41) cutlasses and knives recovered from criminal elements. In furtherance of public safety and counter-terrorism efforts, nine (9) Unexploded Ordnances (UXOs) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered and safely neutralized.
5. In addition, eighteen (18) kidnapped victims were successfully rescued through coordinated police operations. The Command also recovered twenty-seven (27) stolen vehicles and one hundred and eighty-seven (187) mobile phones, which are undergoing verification for possible return to their rightful owners. Furthermore, a large cache of hard drugs and other illicit substances valued at Five Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Forty Naira (₦5,774,340) were recovered, thereby disrupting criminal drug distribution networks within the State.
6. The Commissioner of Police acknowledges and appreciates the solid foundation of operational excellence that existed prior to his assumption of duty on 8th June 2025, when he assumed office as the 43rd Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command. He notes that Borno State presents unique and complex security challenges, and that the recorded achievements are products of continuity, collective effort, resilience, and professionalism of officers and men of the Command.
7. The Command reiterates its unwavering commitment through the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD NPM, vision and mission centered on professionalism, accountability, respect for human rights, and community oriented policing, recognizing that public trust and cooperation remain central to effective law enforcement.
8. For the year 2026, the Command will prioritize intelligence-led policing as the core strategy for crime prevention and detection. Enhanced synergy and collaboration with sister security agencies, community stakeholders, and relevant partners will be sustained to ensure coordinated and proactive responses to security challenges.
9. Police patrols, visibility, and vigilance will be intensified across both urban and rural areas, supported by improved surveillance and monitoring mechanisms aimed at deterring criminal activities. Continuous training and retraining programmes will be implemented to strengthen officers’ capacity in modern policing techniques, professionalism, and human rights compliance.
10. The Command will also intensify sensitization and community engagement, strengthening partnerships with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and the general public to promote information sharing, trust-building, and shared ownership of security.
11. The Commissioner of Police assures the people of Borno State of the Command’s readiness to adapt to evolving security realities and reaffirms that the Nigeria Police Force will remain proactive, neutral, and responsive in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
12. Members of the public are encouraged to continue supporting the Police through timely and credible information, cooperation, and law-abiding conduct, as security remains a collective responsibility.
13. The Borno State Police Command remains resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property and to ensure a safe and secure environment for socio-economic activities to thrive in 2026 and beyond.
