 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Defence Minister Meets Veteran Missionary Peter Fretheim In Jos


The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), hosted veteran missionary and humanitarian Peter Fretheim at his residence in Jos.


During the visit, Fretheim offered prayers for the Minister, seeking guidance and strength in his role overseeing Nigeria’s defence and security.


Peter Fretheim has worked in Nigeria for over 28 years through SIM ECWA, focusing on humanitarian programs in Jos and surrounding communities. 


His work includes supporting orphans, widows, individuals affected by leprosy, and other vulnerable groups.


He has also documented his experiences through writing and continues to engage in community development initiatives.


General Musa, a retired military officer, has held several key positions in the Nigerian Armed Forces and currently serves as Minister of Defence.


The meeting reflects ongoing interactions between government officials and individuals involved in humanitarian and religious activities, highlighting collaboration and shared interest in national development.
