 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East.  Defence Minister Meets Veteran Missionary Peter Fretheim In Jos


The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), hosted veteran missionary and humanitarian Peter Fretheim at his residence in Jos.


During the visit, Fretheim offered prayers for the Minister, seeking guidance and strength in his role overseeing Nigeria’s defence and security.


Peter Fretheim has worked in Nigeria for over 28 years through SIM ECWA, focusing on humanitarian programs in Jos and surrounding communities. 


His work includes supporting orphans, widows, individuals affected by leprosy, and other vulnerable groups.


He has also documented his experiences through writing and continues to engage in community development initiatives.


General Musa, a retired military officer, has held several key positions in the Nigerian Armed Forces and currently serves as Minister of Defence.


The meeting reflects ongoing interactions between government officials and individuals involved in humanitarian and religious activities, highlighting collaboration and shared interest in national development.
