 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert celebrate birth of their first child

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Hough have welcomed their first child together.

The “Dancing with the Stars” judge and his wife celebrated the birth of a baby girl on Dec. 29. They shared the news Monday on Instagram, revealing her name and posting a black-and-white photo of their hands wrapped around the tiny feet of their daughter.

“Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” the post read. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open, and our world is forever changed.”

Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough, also shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “Welcome to the world, sweet angel Everley.”

The couple first announced they were expecting in July 2025 with a video on Instagram. They were married in 2023 and expressed their amazement at the new chapter in their lives, writing at the time, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️.”

The arrival of Everley comes two years after Erbert underwent an emergency craniectomy following a cranial hematoma diagnosis. She reflected last month on the intense journey of recovery, sharing that the experience had given her a “second chance at life” and allowed her to rediscover herself. “It was a whirlwind to say the least… But I’m truly grateful for it all, and so incredibly proud of myself and my body for everything it has endured. What a miracle it is that two years ago I was fighting for my life… and now, here I am creating life,” she wrote.
