 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  GUNMEN ATTACK BENUE LINKS BUS ON MAKURDI-OTUKPO ROAD, 3 HOSPITALISED 


10th January, 2026     


A Benue Links Nigeria Limited bus travelling from Makurdi to Otukpo came under gun attack by suspected armed robbers/kidnappers today evening, leaving three passengers seriously injured.


The affected passengers are currently receiving emergency treatment at the Teaching Hospital in Otukpo.


Members of the public with relatives or acquaintances who boarded the Benue Links bus on the Makurdi–Otukpo route are advised to urgently contact them or visit the hospital for information.


Security agencies have been alerted, while further details on the incident are awaited.
