 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  GUNMEN STRIKE IWANEV COMMUNITY, TWO KILLED, THREE ABDUCTED IN BENUE

A security alert has been raised following a deadly overnight attack on Iwanev community at Ugbema Junction in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.


Reports from the area indicate that a group of unidentified gunmen stormed the community under the cover of darkness, killing two residents and abducting three others to an unknown destination.


The incident has thrown the community into fear, with residents calling for urgent intervention to prevent further attacks.


Community sources appealed to the Benue State Government, under the leadership of Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and the Chairman of Buruku Local Government Area, Hon. Raymond Zege Aondoakura, to take immediate and decisive action to restore security and safeguard lives and property in the area.


Residents urged security agencies to intensify patrols and investigations to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of those abducted.
