 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  House of Representatives Passes 58.47 Trillion Naira 2026 Appropriation Bill For Second Reading 


The 2026 Appropriation Bill of Fifty Eight Point Four Seven Trillion Naira has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives. 


The progress of the money bill followed a lead debate on the budget proposals by House Majority Leader Julius Ihonbvere which was unanimously adopted without dissension. 


The majority leader urged other lawmakers to support the passage of the budget which prioritizes defence and security, and infrastructural development. 

National Assembly Correspondent Mitaire Ikpen reports that ‎Thursday's plenary began with a valedictory session in honour of the outgoing Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, with Speaker Abbas Tajudeen commending Danzaria's career of devoted service to the stability, integrity and continuity of Nigeria’s parliament and democracy in general
