 Trump administration halts border wall well drilling in New Mexico after ranchers raise water concerns  The Trump administration has ordered contractors building a border wall in New Mexico to stop drilling new wells after ranchers raised concerns that groundwater pumping for construction could worsen drought conditions and threaten their livestock. The move comes as crews work to expand border barriers across four states as part of President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda. The project has received billions in federal funding and has faced criticism from residents, environmental groups and local officials over various impacts. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees construction, has said water is needed for concrete production, road construction and controlling dust.  LSWMO RE-SEALS PROPERTIES AT ADENIJI ADELE, LAGOS ISLAND FOR ENVIRONMENTAL NUISANCE AND BREAKING OF GOVERNMENT SEAL


The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) in a joint operation with KAI, on Thursday, 15th January 2026, re-sealed off two (2) properties at No. 34 & 38 Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, following unabated discharge of untreated wastewater and raw sewage into the environment and causing persistent offensive odour from a dilapidated chambers and overflowing septic tank and also for breaking of government seal.


LSWMO urges residents to sustainably manage their wastewater and maintain good hygiene to protect community health as violators will attract sanctions and possible prosecution.
