NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. We have been fully participating in all INEC activities without let or hindrance. NDC also fielded candidates, and fully pa...

MISSING KANSHIO LADY REAPPEARS, FAMILY RAISES ALARM OVER CONFLICTING STORIES

11th January, 2026

The family of a young woman earlier reported missing in Kanshio, Makurdi, Benue State, has raised fresh concerns after she contacted them to say she was not missing and had travelled to Port Harcourt for work.

A family source told Benue Info-pedia, that the woman reached out a day after alerts about her disappearance circulated on social media, urging relatives to stop searching for her and to discontinue further posts about the matter.

However, the explanation has triggered suspicion within the family, following what they described as inconsistent details surrounding her movements.

According to the source, the woman had travelled to Gboko during the Christmas period to stay with her elder sister, where she reportedly met a man and began interacting with him. She was said to have later complained to the man that her family was not treating her well and that she wanted to relocate, after which he allegedly connected her with opportunities outside the state.

The man, however, denied the allegations and has since stopped responding to phone calls, a development the family described as troubling.

Despite claiming to be safe, the woman has reportedly refused to answer repeated calls from her relatives or engage them through a video call to personally explain her situation.

“If nothing is wrong, she should speak to her family directly through a video call,” the source said. “Her refusal has only heightened our fears.”

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued by the police or other security agencies.

The family said they suspect the woman may be acting under external influence and have called for proper investigation to ascertain her safety and freedom.

The individual linked to her relocation is now being treated as a person of interest, pending further developments.
