 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Mr Ibu's ex-manager urges Enugu government to place the late actor's children on scholarship

 


Ex-manager of late Nollywood actor John Okafor(Mr Ibu), Mr. Dominic Nwuzor, has today, Monday 19th January 2026, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria Abuja, appealed to the Enugu State government to provide scholarships for the late actor’s children. 


Nwuzor reportedly managed late Jon Okafor for more than two decades before his passing in March 2024.


He urged the state government to consider the children of the late actor in its effort to bolster education through targeted scholarships across the state.


Nwuzor said;

"We have appealed for scholarship opportunities for the children, and will continue to do so, so that something can be done.


"His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, is a leader with a large heart and does not take lightly the education of the people, especially the vulnerable ones.


"We hope he will consider offering scholarships to the offspring of the man who used his talent to make the state proud across Africa and beyond".
