 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Noah Wyle recently spoke about reconnecting with his longtime friend and former ER costar George Clooney. 

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the 2026 AARP Movies for Grownups Awards in Los Angeles on January 10, the 54-year-old actor shared that he and Clooney, 64, catch up whenever their busy schedules allow, picking up conversations seamlessly from where they left off.


Wyle described Clooney as a meaningful "touchstone figure" in his life, someone who appears at important moments. At the event, the two presented awards to each other: Wyle honored Clooney for Best Actor in a film for his role in Jay Kelly, while Clooney presented Wyle with the equivalent honor in the TV category for his performance in The Pitt, which also won for Best TV Series or Limited Series.


The reunion highlighted their mutual admiration and the strong connection formed during their time on the iconic medical drama ER, which aired from 1994 to 2009. Wyle has credited Clooney with teaching him valuable lessons in kindness, leadership, and professionalism that he continues to apply in his career.
