 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Peter Obi, in company of Ebonyi and Enugu former governors visits Nwobodo in Enugu 


Labour party Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, held a closed door meeting with the former governor of Old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo.


Obi, arrived the Amechi, Nkanu West country home of the Nwobodo at 1.55pm in company of the former governors Sam Egwu(Ebonyi state), Okwy Nwodo (Enugu State), Senator Ben Ndi Obi and Senator Gilbert Nnaji, among others.


Although details of the meeting is being awaited, it is believed that Obi who formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) last week, may have come to solicit the support of Nwobodo on his new platform.


Obi has not hidden his interest to contest the presidency of the country. He believes that the ADC would offer him the right platform to contest the position in 2027.


The meeting is coming closely after the senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Kalu, and Enugu Governor, Peter Mbah, held a closed door meeting with Nwobodo on the politics of the southeast region in 2027.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
