 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways.  Peter Obi joins Archbishop Jude T. Omooo, in the foundation laying stone of sacred heart primary and secondary School in Ozubulu, promises monthly subvention until it is completed.


Former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his commitment to education with the laying of the foundation stone for the Sacred Heart Primary and Secondary School in Ozubulu.


Obi performed the ceremony alongside the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo, describing the event as deeply fulfilling and a strong reminder of the transformative power of education in society.


He announced his decision to support the school project through monthly financial subvention until its completion, noting that the gesture is aimed at ensuring the realization of the school’s vision, particularly for children who may lack access to quality education.


According to Obi, meaningful development is anchored on shared responsibility and sustained commitment.


 He added that the Sacred Heart School project represents hope, action, and a deliberate investment in the future through education, which he described as one of the most powerful tools for societal transformation.
