 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.  Police arrests officers for harassing content creator along Lagos airport road


The Airport Police Command  says it has taken note of a video currently circulating on social media involving police personnel of the Command and an Instagram content creator, teaserprank2, following a routine stop-and-search operation.


In a video making the rounds, the content creator said he had gone to pick up a friend from the airport and while returning home, he was stopped by some officers along the airport road. He alleged that the officers searched the trunk of his car and after finding nothing implicating, went on to accuse him and his friends of being thieves. He said the incident escalated when he resisted going to their office with them. He said that the officers treated him badly as if he was a criminal. A video he recorded showed when his phone was hit by one of the officers when he tried recording and also where one of the officers could be seen holding him by the trouser and dragging him.


Reacting to the viral video, the Airport Command;s spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Adeola, said the officers captured in the video have been identified and taken into custody. He mentioned that they are currently undergoing appropriate internal disciplinary procedures in line with the extant rules, regulations, and professional standards of the Nigeria Police Force.

He invited the content creator to the Airport Police Command to enable a full resolution of the matter.
