 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Prominent Nigerian Activist and Youth Advocate Oruche Ogeamara Precious popularly known as "MamaPee" has called out former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu for the controversial statement he made that the current governor Alex Otti is "repainting and recoating" roads he constructed in 2007. In her post on Instagram, she stated clearly that she has visited Abia state before and After Alex Otti became the governor, and she has seen tremendous positive changes in the roads.she stated that the roads were very bad and most of the roads were refuse dumps. But she recently passed through Abia state and the quality of the roads were up to standard and all these were done in just two years!

She further went on to urge Abia State Citizen to "Tighten their seatbelts" and support the current governor; Alex Otti and not allow opposition to bring him down.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
