 Ethiopian forces regain control of border city near Eritrea Ethiopian government forces and their allies entered Adigrat, near the border with Horn of Africa neighbour Eritrea, days after Eritrean troops were pushed back from the strategic city. The reported incursion by Eritrean troops, which Eritrea has denied and Reuters could not independently verify, has raised fears of a return to all-out war along Ethiopia's northern border where the two nations have clashed before. Conflicts elsewhere in the region and tensions across the Red Sea have further raised the stakes. The fighting that broke out last month has been the biggest escalation since ​the Tigray war, in which hundreds of thousands of people died.

 Rose Byrne won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy at the 2026 Golden Globes for "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You," but her longtime partner Bobby Cannavale wasn't there to celebrate with her. The reason? He was at a reptile expo in New Jersey buying a bearded dragon for their family.


During her acceptance speech, Byrne explained the unusual absence to roaring laughter from the audience, saying "I want to thank my husband, Bobby Cannavale. He couldn't be here because we're getting a bearded dragon, and he went to a reptile expo in New Jersey." The excuse was completely real, as Byrne had mentioned the planned lizard purchase days earlier on The Tonight Show. While Cannavale missed the big moment in person, Byrne's brother George accompanied her to the ceremony, and she gave a sweet shoutout to her parents in Sydney who bought Paramount Plus just to watch the show.
