The Media Office of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has issued a clarification distancing the Distinguished Senator from unauthorized statements allegedly made by individuals claiming to be his supporters, which were critical of the Kaduna State Government and Governor Uba Sani.
In a statement released on Friday, the Media Office expressed concern over written and verbal comments attributed to such individuals, describing them as unverified, unauthorized, and inconsistent with Senator Katung’s long-standing reputation and values.
According to the statement, the remarks run counter to the Senator’s commitment to peace, unity, collaboration, and sustainable development in Southern Kaduna, objectives he has consistently pursued over the years.
The Media Office emphasized that Senator Katung holds President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, in the highest regard.
It reaffirmed the Senator’s unwavering support for their leadership, their second-term aspirations, and the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Katung is working tirelessly, in close collaboration with other leaders, to ensure Southern Kaduna receives the attention, inclusion, and developmental support it deserves from governments at all levels,” the statement noted.
The Media Office further appealed to supporters and followers of the Senator to exercise restraint and responsibility, urging them to refrain from actions or communications capable of undermining the prevailing atmosphere of peace, unity, and cooperation in the state.
The statement concluded with a call for continued loyalty and support for President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and the APC, stressing that lasting progress can only be achieved through unity, discipline, and constructive engagement.
The statement was signed by Midat Joseph,
Special Adviser, Media and Communications to Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.
