COURT ADJOURNS EL-RUFAI, SIX OTHERS' #8.68 BILLION FRAUD CASE TO DECEMBER 8 The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has adjourned the trial of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, and six others over alleged corruption and money laundering involving an ₦8.68 billion Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance contract to December 8, 2026, following changes in the legal teams representing the prosecution and the first defendant. A statement by Head Media and Public Communications(ICPC), Okor Odey says the matter instituted by Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), came up before Honourable Justice Hauwa’u Buhari of the Federal High Court, Kaduna Judicial Division, where the newly appointed prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Muktar, announced his appearance and informed the court of a change in the prosecution team.  Shakira breaks record with highest-grossing Latin tour ever

Colombian singer Shakira has set a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing Latin touring artist ever, surpassing Luis Miguel and Bad Bunny. Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has grossed $421.6 million and sold 3.3 million tickets across 86 reported shows since its launch on February 11, making it the most successful tour by a Spanish-language artist in history.

The record was officially recognized on December 11 during Shakira’s concert at Vélez Sarsfield Stadium in Buenos Aires, when cumulative tour revenue surpassed $410 million. Additional shows in Argentina and the United States further boosted the total. The tour has sold out stadiums across Latin America, North America, and other international markets, with regional figures showing the first Latin America leg earned $144.4 million from 25 concerts, and the North American leg brought in $103.6 million across 22 shows. A second Latin America leg added $169.2 million from 36 shows, while three concerts in Hollywood, Florida, contributed $4.4 million.

Shakira, reflecting on the achievement, said, “After a 30-year career that required so much effort and faced so many challenges, living this moment is incredible. I can only be grateful for the loyalty and passion of my fans, who give meaning to everything I do.” Billboard rankings placed her fifth on the Top Tours list for 2025 and second in total ticket sales, while she ranked No. 1 among Latin tours for the year.

The tour will continue through 2026, concluding on April 4 in Abu Dhabi, following its final Latin America dates, including five shows in El Salvador and a stop in Mexico City on February 27. Across 206 reported concerts, Shakira has grossed $529.7 million and sold 4.9 million tickets, with totals expected to rise before the tour’s conclusion, potentially setting another milestone for Latin music worldwide.
