 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED; TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED 


The Bauchi State Police Command announces the recovery of a stolen Honda Civic vehicle, army-green in colour, intercepted by a patrol team attached to B' Divisional Police Headquarters on January 23, 2026, at approximately 0145hrs, along the Bauchi-Jos road. Muazu Abdulkarim (32), of Emir's Drive, Bauchi, and his girlfriend, Rukayya Muhammad (22), of Bakaro, Bauchi, were apprehended while in possession of the vehicle.


2.Preliminary investigations confirm the vehicle was stolen on December 13, 2025, from Old Jos Road, Unguwar Kaya Zaria, Kaduna State. The rightful owner is a medical doctor at FMC Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State.


3.On the instruction of CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu psc (+), mni, the rightful owner has been contacted and retrieved the vehicle after verifying ownership.


4.The suspects are under investigation and will be prosecuted.
