 The vest did the job - Donald Trump confirms agent injured in D.C. shooting scare Donald Trump has confirmed that a Secret Service agent was injured during a shooting scare at a major press event in Washington, D.C. Speaking after the incident, Trump said the officer was hit at close range but avoided serious harm thanks to protective gear.  “One officer was shot but saved by the fact that he was wearing a very good bulletproof vest,” he said, adding that the agent is now recovering and in good spirits. The situation unfolded during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where attendees were settling in for the evening when gunfire was heard. Witnesses described a sudden shift from calm to panic, with people quickly moving for cover under tables as security responded. SUSPECTED BANDITS ATTACK OYO STATE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE OFFICE, FIVE FOREST GUARDS KILLED 


No fewer than five forest guards of the National Park Service office in Oloka, Oriire local government area of Oyo State have been allegedly killed by suspected bandits who attacked the park on Tuesday


Confirming the incident to NTA News via a telephone call, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka says the state Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna alongside other service chiefs are on their way to the affected area to assess the situation firsthand 


He adds that the state commissioner of Police has also ordered the immediate deployment of tactical teams, officers of the Mobile Police Force and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit of the Nigeria Police Force to the area 


Assuring members of the Public that security agencies are on top of the situation, DSP Olayinka promises to give updates on the incident
