 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. SUSPECTED BANDITS ATTACK OYO STATE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE OFFICE, FIVE FOREST GUARDS KILLED 


No fewer than five forest guards of the National Park Service office in Oloka, Oriire local government area of Oyo State have been allegedly killed by suspected bandits who attacked the park on Tuesday


Confirming the incident to NTA News via a telephone call, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka says the state Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna alongside other service chiefs are on their way to the affected area to assess the situation firsthand 


He adds that the state commissioner of Police has also ordered the immediate deployment of tactical teams, officers of the Mobile Police Force and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit of the Nigeria Police Force to the area 


Assuring members of the Public that security agencies are on top of the situation, DSP Olayinka promises to give updates on the incident
