 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. TENSION HAS REPORTEDLY GRIPPED OBUKPA TOWN, IN NSUKKA AREA OF ENUGU STATE, FOLLOWING THE ALLEGED KILLING OF A YOUNG MAN BY SOME YOUTHS FROM AMAOZARA OBUKPA COMMUNITY.(PHOTO)

 Tension has reportedly gripped Obukpa town, in Nsukka area of Enugu state, following the alleged killing of a young man by some youths from Amaozara Obukpa community.


According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred at about 10:00pm on Saturday when the youths allegedly approached the victim, accusing him of being responsible for the theft of solar-powered street lights in the area. 


The young man, who was later discovered by residents as an innocent indigene of Obukpa, was reportedly beaten severely.


Sources claim that during the attack, the assailants allegedly used iron rods to assault the victim, inflicting fatal injuries.


 The young man was said to have died as a result of the injuries sustained.


Following the incident, fear and panic reportedly spread across Obukpa town, with many residents fleeing for safety. 


It was further alleged that youths from Amaozara Obukpa involved in the attack have since abandoned the town and gone into hiding in nearby bushes and mountainous areas.

Meanwhile investigation is currently underway.
