Todd Bridges, the 60-year-old actor best known for his role as Willis Jackson on the classic sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, has announced his separation from his wife Bettijo B. Hirschi after three years of marriage.
The news was confirmed on January 14, 2026.
In a statement, Bridges explained that after much prayer and reflection, he and his spouse made the difficult decision to separate, describing it as a choice made with love and gratitude for the life they shared. He expressed that during their time together they shared meaningful moments but have chosen to go their separate ways, asking for privacy and wishing her nothing but love and happiness moving forward.
The couple met in January 2022 through a dating app setup by a friend, and their relationship progressed quickly. After just six months of dating, Bridges proposed, and they married in an intimate ceremony in Beverly Hills in September 2022 with about 40 guests.
Bridges is a stepfather to Bettijo's four children and has two of his own—29-year-old daughter Bo and 28-year-old son Spencir from his first marriage to Dori Bridges, which lasted from 1998 to 2012.
The actor has been open about his personal growth journey, including his 32 years of sobriety. He continues to work in Hollywood and recently expressed excitement about exploring new opportunities on his own terms.
