 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Zangon Kataf Council Announces Death Of Former Chairman, Hon. Francis Sani Zimbo


The Zangon Kataf Local Government Council has announced the death of Hon. Francis Sani Amgwa, popularly known as Zimbo, the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Special Adviser to the Kaduna State Governor on Industrial Training.


Zimbo reportedly passed away after a period of illness. 


Until his death, he served as a key aide to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, contributing to policies and initiatives in the area of industrial training and human capital development.


During his tenure as Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government, Hon. Amgwa was widely credited with driving developmental initiatives, strengthening community relations, and promoting peace across the various communities within the local government area. 


He was known for his grassroots engagement, political commitment, and dedication to public service.


Described as a bridge-builder and a leader deeply connected to the people, Hon. Amgwa earned widespread respect for his passion for empowerment and his ability to relate with ordinary citizens. 


Many community members and political associates have described his passing as a significant loss to Zangon Kataf Local Government, Southern Kaduna, and Kaduna State at large.


The Council extended its condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, political associates, and the government and people of Kaduna State.


Funeral arrangements, according to the Council, will be announced at a later date.


Hon. Francis Sani Amgwa is survived by family members and leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment to community development.
