Residents of Bomjok community in Kurmin Gwaza, Kwaturu Ward of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have raised alarm following a late-night attack by suspected bandits that resulted in the abduction of 16 persons.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2025.
According to local sources, the attackers operated in the community for over two hours before leaving with their victims.
Among those abducted are women, men, and children, including a nursing mother, three 13-year-olds, a 10-year-old child, and a four-month-old baby.

Justice Yakubu (man)

Tabitha Adamu (13-year-old girl)
John Adua (13-year-old boy)
Thank God Joseph (13-year-old boy)
Dominic Markus (10-year-old boy)
Stephen Daniel (4-month-old baby)
A community source said the abductors are believed to be demanding ransom for the victims’ release.
However, families of those kidnapped reportedly lack the financial means to meet any such demand.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation regarding their whereabouts or any rescue operation.
Residents are calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to urgently intervene to ensure the safe return of the victims.
