 EFCC Arraigns One for  N700m Fraud in Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arraigned Osaretin Osagiede before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja,  over an alleged N700 million fraud. Osagiede is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on unauthorised access to computer material and receiving stolen property to the tune of N700 million.  Count one reads: “That you Osaretin Osagiede and Zacharia Lorshe (at large), between March, 2025 and January 2026, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, intentionally caused the Ravenpay user accounts' two-factor authentication (2FA) method to be bypassed, with the intent to secure unauthorised access to the bank's data and committed an offence contrary to Section 387 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.  16 Abducted In Late-Night Attack On Southern Kaduna Community


Residents of Bomjok community in Kurmin Gwaza, Kwaturu Ward of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have raised alarm following a late-night attack by suspected bandits that resulted in the abduction of 16 persons.


The incident reportedly occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2025. 


According to local sources, the attackers operated in the community for over two hours before leaving with their victims.


Among those abducted are women, men, and children, including a nursing mother, three 13-year-olds, a 10-year-old child, and a four-month-old baby.


The victims have been identified as:


Patience Obadiah (woman)


Mama Genesis (woman)


Blessing Daniel (nursing mother)


Patience Adua (woman)


Jennifer Adamu (lady)


Dina Adua (lady)


Zinom Adamu (man)


Justice Yakubu (man)


Abel Edward (man)


Daniel Peter (man)


Tukur Peter (man)


Tabitha Adamu (13-year-old girl)


John Adua (13-year-old boy)


Thank God Joseph (13-year-old boy)


Dominic Markus (10-year-old boy)


Stephen Daniel (4-month-old baby)


A community source said the abductors are believed to be demanding ransom for the victims’ release.

However, families of those kidnapped reportedly lack the financial means to meet any such demand.


As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation regarding their whereabouts or any rescue operation. 


Residents are calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to urgently intervene to ensure the safe return of the victims.
