 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  23-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN BENUE OVER PALM FRUIT DISPUTE, SUSPECT FLEES 


18th February, 2026 


A 23-year-old man has died following a violent altercation with his neighbour over palm fruit harvesting in Benue State.


The incident occurred on February 16 at about 2:20 p.m. in Pass Brother Community, Guma Local Government Area.


According to sources, the deceased, identified as David Oraade, allegedly confronted a 30-year-old neighbour, Felix Cephas, accusing him of harvesting palm fruits from trees said to belong to his family.


The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical fight during which the suspect allegedly inflicted serious injuries on the victim.


David was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead.


His remains have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.


Police sources say the suspect fled the scene shortly after the incident and is currently at large.


Authorities have launched a manhunt, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal clash are ongoing.
