 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler. ABANDONED BABY DISCOVERED INSIDE A BAG TODAY IN OKPUNO, ANAMBRA STATE . (PHOTOS).

 Abandoned Baby Discovered Inside a bag today in Okpuno, Anambra State 


A newborn baby was discovered around nine o’clock today, Sunday, 1st February 2026, at a shop along Pope John Paul Seminary School Street, Umuodu Village, Okpuno, alive.


The baby was discovered by a nurse, Mrs. Mercy Iloanya, who said she went to her shop, which is close to the shop where the baby was dropped, when she noticed a bag containing the baby.


According to Nurse Iloanya, she immediately called the attention of a man she saw along the street, who confirmed that the baby was alive before they alerted the woman whose shop the baby was dropped in front of.


Mrs. Chika Onyema, who owns the shop, told ABS that when they opened the bag, they saw a written note accompanying the baby in which the mother appealed to her to help take care of the child.


Good Samaritans who gathered to witness the situation quickly contributed baby items, while mostly women gasped in awe as they wondered why someone would do such a thing.


ABS took the baby to Anambra Police B Division, where an entry was made, and afterwards took the child to the Intensive Care Unit at the Mother and Child Department of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, at the instance of the Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare.
