 A 19-year-old Texas man survived a lightning strike while fishing with his mother the day before Mothers Day. Hunter Wyche proclaimed himself the "unluckiest lucky man" after he was struck by lightning on Saturday, May 10th. Hunter had taken his mother fishing along the Angelina River and was expecting a relaxing day catching up with his mom and maybe catching a few fish. However, while Hunter leaned against a tree, lightning struck, throwing him several feet and leaving him unconscious and wounded. Hunter blacked out during the ordeal and awoke to his mother and a crowd of people around him. As Hunter regained consciousness, he couldn't move his right foot and could barely move his leg. He believes the strike went through his stomach down his right leg and back out through the top of his foot.  The strike also caused wood to explode everywhere, leaving him with wood shrapnel embedded in his skin and face.  ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECORDS MASSIVE PROMOTION AS CP ORUTUGU DECORATES OVER 300 ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS OF POLICE


The Anambra State Police Command has recorded a significant milestone in personnel advancement as it celebrated the promotion of over three hundred officers to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). The decoration ceremony took place at the Command Headquarters in Awka on 20th February, 2025.


Decorating the officers, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, fwc mnips PhD, described the promotion as well-deserved and merit-based. He congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to rededicate themselves to professionalism, discipline, and quality service to the people of Anambra State.


The CP emphasized that promotion comes with greater responsibility, urging the officers to uphold the core values of the Force, maintain integrity, and sustain public trust in the discharge of their duties. He further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to boosting morale and enhancing operational efficiency through the recognition of hard work, dedication, and excellence.


In his vote of thanks, Assistant Superintendent of Police Eyam Osim, speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector- General of Police, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Zone 13, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, the Command’s Management Team, and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the promotion.


The event was attended by senior police officers, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the achievement of the newly decorated ASPs.


The large-scale promotion underscores the ongoing reforms and career development initiatives of the Nigeria Police Force aimed at strengthening capacity, enhancing motivation, and improving service delivery across the country.
