Georgia woman charged with murder after allegedly taking abortion pills to end pregnancy A 31-year-old Georgia woman has been charged with murder after police say she took pills to induce an abortion in violation of state law that bans most terminations beyond the earliest weeks of pregnancy. Alexia Moore was taken into custody in Camden County after hospital staff said she had ingested misoprostol, a medication used for abortions, along with the opioid oxycodone. Moore arrived at the hospital on Dec. 30, complaining of abdominal pain. According to police, the fetus survived about an hour after delivery, and Moore allegedly told staff she wanted the baby to die. The arrest warrant says medical staff determined Moore’s pregnancy was between 22 and 24 weeks, placing the fetus near the threshold of viability.  Anne Burrell's suicide: Chilling details about her death reveal medics didn't try to revive Food Network star

Several months after Anne Burrell’s passing at age 55, reports clarified that her death was ruled a suicide. She was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn home by her husband, Stuart Claxton, in June 2025.

Authorities later discovered a note and journal entries that indicated her intent, though her family emphasized that she had never previously spoken about or shown signs of suicidal thoughts.

They remembered her as a radiant presence whose warmth touched countless lives.

Claxton, who married Burrell in 2021, was said to be in shock and disbelief, describing their relationship as deeply loving. Just weeks before her death, Burrell had spoken publicly about how happy she felt in her marriage, calling it a joy even years after their wedding.

Friends and colleagues echoed that sentiment, recalling her upbeat demeanor and enthusiasm for life.

The suddenness of her passing left many stunned, especially since she had performed at an improv show the night before and appeared to be in good spirits.

Those close to her expressed confusion and sorrow, underscoring how unexpected the tragedy was.

Her death serves as a reminder that struggles are not always visible, even in those who seem outwardly happy.
