 SENATE APPROVES ₦403.1BN POLICE TRUST FUND BUDGETS FOR 2025, 2026 The Senate has approved a total of ₦403.1 billion for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years, to strengthen policing and tackle terrorism, kidnapping, and other security threats. The approved funding includes ₦170.1 billion for 2025 and ₦233 billion for 2026, covering personnel costs, capital projects, and overhead expenses aimed at improving the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force. Lawmakers say the funds will support the provision of critical equipment, infrastructure, training, and other resources needed to enhance security across the country. BAUCHI SECURITY: Police Recovered N1,050,000 Motorcycle, Apprehended Suspect 


The 'C' Division of the Command has arrested a suspect involved in the theft of a motorcycle valued at N1,050,000.


2. On 2nd February, 2026, at approximately 1900hrs, two complainants, Abdullahi Aliyu, a motorcycle dealer, and Musa Usman, a motorcycle mechanic, reported to the police station that a yet-to-be-identified person had stolen a Boxer motorcycle from Aliyu's shop at Muda Lawal Market.


3.The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Muhammad, 25, of Tabli via Birshi Ward, Bauchi, was arrested on 9th February, 2026, at Gwallameji Area, Bauchi, following a tip-off and surveillance by the 'C' Division's detectives. The stolen motorcycle was recovered.


4. Muhammad has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


5. The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) commended the efforts of the detectives and patrol team involved in the operation and urged citizens to continue providing information to help combat crime in the state.
