 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse. BAUCHI SECURITY: Police Recovered N1,050,000 Motorcycle, Apprehended Suspect 


The 'C' Division of the Command has arrested a suspect involved in the theft of a motorcycle valued at N1,050,000.


2. On 2nd February, 2026, at approximately 1900hrs, two complainants, Abdullahi Aliyu, a motorcycle dealer, and Musa Usman, a motorcycle mechanic, reported to the police station that a yet-to-be-identified person had stolen a Boxer motorcycle from Aliyu's shop at Muda Lawal Market.


3.The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Muhammad, 25, of Tabli via Birshi Ward, Bauchi, was arrested on 9th February, 2026, at Gwallameji Area, Bauchi, following a tip-off and surveillance by the 'C' Division's detectives. The stolen motorcycle was recovered.


4. Muhammad has confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


5. The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) commended the efforts of the detectives and patrol team involved in the operation and urged citizens to continue providing information to help combat crime in the state.
