 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Brazilian Influencer Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva Dies at 25


The beauty community in Brazil is grieving the loss of a bright, young voice online.


Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva, known to her followers simply as Maria Rita, d!ed on Feb. 21. She was 25.


Based in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Rodrigues built a devoted audience by sharing fashion finds, makeup tutorials and honest product reviews. 


More than 11,000 people followed her on Instagram, while her TikTok presence grew to over 65,000. 


Her content was colorful and upbeat, often spotlighting popular beauty launches and styling tips.


The news of her sudden d@ath stunned friends and fans alike. Fellow creator Luana Lilian honored her on Instagram a day later, describing Rodrigues as “a charming person” and “one of those presences that effortlessly illuminate a room.” 


She extended a heartfelt message to the family, writing that Rodrigues’ light continues in every memory and every life she touched.


Another close friend, identified as Lívia, shared that the two had been together in the studio just one day before Rodrigues passed. 


They had made plans. “Not even 24 hours later you were gone,” she wrote, reflecting on a decade long friendship. “You were the sister I never had.”


Rodrigues’ own final social media update came on Feb. 19, when she posted a photo modeling a new pair of sunglasses. Nothing in the post hinted at what was to come.


In the comments, grief poured in. One follower wrote, “We are in disbelief, go in peace, our eternal partner.” Another called her “so sweet and talented,” praying for comfort for her family. A third described her as an inspiration, saying every post felt special and unique.


According to information shared via her Instagram Stories, her family held a funeral on Feb. 22, followed by a burial the next day in her hometown of São Bernardo do Campo.


For those who followed her journey, Maria Rita was more than curated outfits and beauty tutorials. 


She was a familiar, joyful presence on their screens, now remembered through the photos, videos and kindness she leaves behind.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
