 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  Bryce James, son of NBA star LeBron James, to redshirt freshman season at top-ranked Arizona 

 Bryce James, the youngest son of NBA star LeBron James, will redshirt his freshman season at Arizona. The 6-foot-5 guard has not yet played this season for the top-ranked Wildcats, and coach Tommy Lloyd confirmed Tuesday that James will sit out the year to preserve eligibility.

“The redshirting decision was a long-term plan to give Bryce the most options as his career develops,” Lloyd said. “I strongly believe Bryce will contribute at Arizona in the near future. He’s made significant progress, not only in learning our system but also in his physical development.” James joined Arizona as part of a highly regarded freshman class alongside Koa Peat and Brayden Burries. With the Wildcats off to a 22-0 start—the best in program history—Lloyd and his staff have had the opportunity to carefully develop James, whose older brother, Bronny, plays alongside their father with the Los Angeles Lakers.
