 Anambra Upgrades 130 Primary Health Centres, Recruits 1,000 Health Workers ‎ ‎ ‎By Ezumezu Nonyelum ‎ ‎ ‎The Anambra State Government says it has upgraded 130 primary health centres across the state as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare. Each facility has been equipped with solar power, a reliable electricity supply and a 30 KVA generator to ensure uninterrupted medical services. ‎ ‎The government said the initiative aligns with its policy of providing at least one fully functional primary health centre in every political ward and one general hospital in each of the state's 21 local government areas. ‎ ‎As part of the healthcare expansion, the Soludo administration has constructed five new general hospitals: Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru, Solution Specialist Hospital in Fegge, Onitsha, Solution Rehabilitation Centre in Nibo, Ekwulobia General Hospital in Aguata, and Solution General Hospital in Anaku, Anyamelum.  DJ ORLANDO HOSPITALISED AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK AT OTUKPO WEDDING OVER PAYMENT DISPUTE

A popular disc jockey, DJ Orlando, is receiving treatment in a hospital after being attacked at a wedding in Otukpo, following a disagreement over extra payment.

Reports indicate the incident occurred when DJ Orlando refused to perform at an after-wedding party, explaining that the original agreement with the couple covered only the main ceremony. Attempts to renegotiate reportedly escalated into violence.

Sources say members of the bride’s family allegedly assaulted the DJ with broken bottles and other dangerous objects, leaving him with serious head injuries. He reportedly ran into the bride’s father’s room for safety but was pushed out and left vulnerable to further attacks.

He was eventually rescued and taken to a hospital. The bride and groom, the latter reportedly from Cross River State, allegedly left Otukpo shortly after the attack to avoid questioning.

The incident has sparked outrage among residents and rights advocates in Idoma land, who are calling on security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Benue State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement on the attack.
