 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium.  Environmental Enforcement Update | Gbagada


Operatives of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) carried out an early-morning enforcement operation at an illegal dump site established behind the car park of RCCG Maranatha Church, New Garage/Roundabout, Gbagada.


Following a tip-off and directive from the Head of Department, the taskforce team was recalled from its movement towards the Island and mobilised past midnight to address the environmental infraction.


LAWMA remains unwavering in its commitment to dismantling illegal dump sites and enforce compliance across communities. Defaulters and evaders of LAWMA waste bills are also on the enforcement radar.


Environmental protection is a shared responsibility. Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and report infractions within their communities.
