 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  FIRE DESTROYS HOMES IN HIGH-LEVEL MAKURDI, BENUE, LEAVES FAMILIES HOMELESS 


3rd February, 2026   


Earlier today, a fire swept through homes at 13th Avenue, Iorkyaa Ako Street, High-Level Mkd in Benue State, leaving several families homeless.


The cause of the blaze is yet unknown. Neighbours say there was no cooking or electricity at the time the fire broke out.


A mother of three lost her room completely, while a husband and wife living next door also had their home destroyed, losing all their belongings. The victims are now without shelter or basic necessities.


Authorities and members of the public are urged to step in. Temporary accommodation or any form of assistance will provide much-needed relief to the affected families.


The fire has left the people in shock, highlighting the urgent need for support and intervention.
