 Anambra Government Dissolves Nkwo Umueze Market Leadership Over Defiance of Monday Trading Directive By Ebele Iyke Odili/Amaka Isikala  The Anambra State Government has dissolved the caretaker committee of Nkwo Umueze Market for failing to comply with the state’s directive mandating full commercial activities on Mondays. The dissolved committee, led by Mr. Onyeka Ekemezie, has been relieved of its duties with immediate effect.  The former chairman and members of the committee have consequently ceased to function as the recognized leadership of the market. The decision follows a clear policy position of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo that no market in the state should remain closed on Mondays under any guise.  The Governor had earlier warned that any market leadership found enforcing or encouraging continued closure would be dissolved in the interest of economic stability and public order.  First Lady Installed As Utukpa Oritse Of Warri Kingdom


Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has been installed as the Utukpa Oritse of Warri Kingdom. 


The traditional title which means "The Light Of God" was conferred on her by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse-III during her one day homecoming visit to her Itsekiri maternal root in Delta State.


Describing the First Lady as the pride of Itsekiri nation, the monarch said the recognition was bestowed on her in acknowledgement of her profound impact on the nation.


Her installation was witnessed by, Delta State governor,  Sheriff Oborevwori and notable traditional rulers, led by the Ooni of Ife,  His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja-II, who recently installed her as the Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua. 


State House correspondent, Adeniyi Taiwo reports that her installation ceremony showcased the rich culture and tradition of the Itsekiri people.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
