 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium.  Governor Siminalayi Fubara has issued a stern warning to political appointees in his administration, threatening dismissal for anyone who convenes meetings without his explicit authorization.


The governor delivered the caution during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma, and Chief of Staff, Barrister Sunny Ewule, held on Thursday at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt.


Fubara emphasized that these appointments are aimed at advancing the state's development agenda and not for creating problems or serving as tools of political patronage. He also urged Permanent Secretaries nearing retirement to prepare comprehensive handover notes to facilitate seamless transitions in their respective offices.
