 EFCC PRESS RELEASE Court Grants Final Forfeiture of $13m Linked to Achimugu’s Firm to Government Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 granted an order of final forfeiture of the sum of $13 million linked to a business woman, Ms Aisha Achimugu and her Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd, to the federal government. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, dragged Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd before the court regarding the ownership of $13m suspected to be proceeds of fraud and unlawful activities.  Delivering judgment in a suit instituted by Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd to claim the funds, Justice Nwite held that the company failed woefully to establish how it came about the money.  Governor Inuwa Yahaya Visits NMDPRA CEO, Expresses Confidence in His Ability to Provide Effective Leadership


Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has visited the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed, at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja.

Gombe indicates that the visit was to identify with the NMDPRA helmsman following his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and to reaffirm the Governor’s confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership in one of the most strategic sectors of the nation’s economy.


Governor Inuwa Yahaya described Engr. Mohammed as a worthy ambassador of Gombe State, whose remarkable rise in the oil and gas industry reflects years of exceptional technical competence and uncommon professionalism.


The governor urged him to deliver on the critical national mandate entrusted to him.


“As an illustrious son of Gombe State, I encourage you to continue to project the values of diligence, integrity and service that define our people. I am confident that your depth of experience, industry insight and managerial acumen will translate into impactful reforms that will strengthen the midstream and downstream petroleum sectors, enhance energy security and contribute significantly to national economic growth,” the Governor stated.


He also stressed the strategic importance of effective regulation in ensuring stability in petroleum supply, improving investor confidence and promoting sustainable development. He expressed optimism that NMDPRA, under Engr. Mohammed’s leadership, would record remarkable progress.


In his response, Engr. Saidu Aliyu Mohammed thanked the Governor for the visit, describing it as a profound source of encouragement and motivation.
