The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate has canvassed greater domestic funding of mass vaccination programmes, warning that over-reliance on donor support threatens long-term sustainability and national health security.
At the Ministry's budget defence before the House Committee on Healthcare Services, Ali Pate notes that health sector reforms by the Tinubu administration prompted international donors to sustain immunization coverage especially for infectious diseases.
In a similar development, some Medical Directors during their budget defence session, asked the Federal Government to subsidize treatment for orthopedic care and other specialty healthcare services which are cost intensive.
