 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU: ARGUNGU FESTIVAL SHOWS RETURN OF STABILITY, PLEDGES STRONGER SUPPORT FOR AGRICULTURE AND TOURISM  President Bola Tinubu on Saturday described the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as a testament to the return of stability and normalcy in Kebbi State and across the country.   Speaking at the grand finale of the festival in Argungu, the President pledged sustained Federal Government support for tourism, agriculture, food security, and rural development.   He commended the state government for successfully organising the historic cultural event, which attracted over 50,000 fishermen from across Nigeria and neighbouring countries.   INEC Schedules February 20, 2027 For Presidential Election


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections will take place on February 20, 2027.


Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are slated for March 6, 2027.


INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, revealed the timetable during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.


The announcement comes amid concerns over the delayed passage of the amended Electoral Act currently before the National Assembly. 


Earlier, on February 4, the commission stated that it had finalized the election timetable and schedule of activities despite the pending legislation.


INEC also confirmed that it had forwarded the schedule to lawmakers but noted that certain aspects could be adjusted depending on when the amended Electoral Act is eventually approved.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
