 African Union calls for 'urgent de-escalation' after US, Israel launch attack on Iran The African Union urged cooler heads to prevail on Saturday after the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran, warning that conflict could risk harming people on the continent. The pan-African body's head, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf called "for restraint, urgent de-escalation and sustained dialogue". "Further escalation risks worsening global instability, with serious implications for energy markets, food security, and economic resilience -- particularly in Africa, where conflict and economic pressures remain acute." The strikes come amid escalating tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme amid talks with the United States.  'Is he wearing a mask?' Jim Carrey's unrecognizable puffy new look sparks fan meltdown 


Jim Carrey took the Paris spotlight on Thursday night, not just for the career honor he received, but for an appearance that had fans buzzing.


The 64-year-old actor arrived at the 51st César Awards held at the historic L'Olympia in a sleek, all-black suit, exuding classic Hollywood style. 


Carrey was presented with an Honorary César, a celebration of his decades-long contributions to film, and delivered a heartfelt speech dedicating the milestone to his late father.


“I wanted to recognize my dad. I mean, my dad was the type of person that if you met him for five minutes, you felt like you knew him for 50 years,” Carrey said, a clip from the ceremony quickly going viral online.


While many applauded the tribute and celebrated Carrey’s incredible filmography, including The Mask, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Liar Liar, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, social media users couldn’t help but comment on his appearance.


Within minutes, fans flooded platforms with reactions, noting a noticeably different look.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
